As he navigates a shifting role within the Cleveland Cavaliers’ rotation this season, center Jarrett Allen continues to be an integral figure for the team, which boasts the league’s best record in 2024/25.

Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com highlights how Allen’s contributions have evolved in the context of supporting his younger teammate, Evan Mobley.

To facilitate Mobley’s development, Allen has willingly reduced his offensive opportunities and playing time, often ceding key moments to the rising forward.

The All-Defensive Team honoree has even taken over at center in critical late-game situations, demonstrating the coaching staff’s belief in Mobley’s potential to impact both ends of the court.

“Evan has been amazing this year,” the big man remarked. “I have always wanted to push him forward no matter what. Whether it’s taking the toughest assignment on defense so he can shine and have more energy on offense or just being in the dunker spot so he can have more room.

“Whatever I have to do to make him the best player, so he can unlock this offense and unlock this team, I’m willing to do it.”

Mobley, in his four seasons with the Cavaliers, has delivered consistently solid performances, averaging 16.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists across 229 regular-season games.
