The Miami Heat have signed guard Isaiah Stevens to a two-way NBA contract, according to a report from Shams Charania. Stevens earned the opportunity following a strong season with the Heat’s G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, where he averaged 13 points and 11 assists per game.
Miami, currently sitting at sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 14-13 record, continues to bolster its roster depth as the season progresses. Stevens, known for his playmaking, joins the Heat as they look to solidify their playoff aspirations.
The undrafted rookie initially joined Miami after the 2024 NBA Draft, signing an Exhibit 10 contract on July 6. However, he was waived on October 19 before joining the Skyforce later that month. His standout performances in the G League caught the attention of the Heat’s front office, leading to his call-up.
Stevens had a storied collegiate career at Colorado State, where he became one of the most decorated players in program history. As a freshman, he averaged 13.3 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game, earning Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors.
Over the years, he continued to elevate his game, making the All-Mountain West teams multiple times and leading the Rams to their first NCAA tournament appearance in nearly a decade in 2022.
During his senior season, Stevens reached a career milestone by surpassing 2,000 career points on January 2, 2024. His all-around skill set and leadership made him a key figure in Colorado State basketball history.
The 6-foot guard’s ability to control the tempo of the game and distribute the ball effectively has been a hallmark of his career. While undersized compared to many NBA guards, Stevens’ basketball IQ and court vision have allowed him to excel at every level.
