Obi Toppin’s four-year, $60 million contract with the Indiana Pacers, signed during free agency, is proving to be a smart investment as he continues to elevate his game.
Over his last eight games, Toppin has been delivering impressive statistics, averaging 15.1 points per game while shooting an exceptional 59.2% from the field, including 42.9% from three-point range.
In addition to his scoring, he’s also been contributing significantly in other areas, recording 6.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, as highlighted by Indianapolis Star reporter Dustin Dopirak.
Toppin’s recent performances have caught the attention of Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle, who praised the forward’s development.
“In the last two-and-a-half, three weeks, Obi has taken his game to another level,” Carlisle said. “More physical. Defense and rebounding really, really tremendous. Offensively, he’s getting in a rhythm.
“He’s one of our important weapons. When he defends and rebounds the way he has been in recent games, it’s another really important factor for us.”
