The Atlanta Hawks announced that Onyeka Okongwu will be sidelined for at least the next four games due to knee inflammation. The young center will be re-evaluated in a week to determine the next steps in his recovery.

Okongwu has been a key contributor for the Hawks this season, averaging 11.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, providing solid production on both ends of the floor.

In addition, the team revealed that rookie guard Kobe Bufkin will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery. Bufkin, a first-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, showed promise in limited action before the injury.

His absence marks a setback for his development and the Hawks’ depth as they navigate the remainder of the campaign.
