Sacramento Kings star Domantas Sabonis has expressed his strong support for Malik Monk’s promotion to the starting lineup, calling it a move that was long overdue. Sabonis shared his thoughts in a recent interview, praising Monk’s leadership and impact on the team.

“It’s about time. I’m happy. He’s thriving,” Sabonis said. “He’s a great leader. He’s showing it. The vibes are great. Everyone’s happy and the ball’s moving. I think it’s contagious, and it starts with him.”

Monk, who began the season coming off the bench, has seen his role evolve significantly. He was averaging 15.1 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds in 26.7 minutes per game as a reserve.

Since joining the starting lineup in December, his production has surged to 19.4 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.2 rebounds in 32.8 minutes per game.
