Harrison Barnes led the way with 25 points and 10 rebounds, securing the team’s second straight win despite missing Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell.
Rookie Stephon Castle impressed with 18 points, while Zach Collins matched that output. Chris Paul contributed 13 points and 10 assists.
San Antonio rallied from an 18-point deficit in the second half, outscoring Utah 75-51 after halftime.
Charles Bassey played a pivotal role off the bench, recording 11 points, eight rebounds, and a career-high six blocks, energizing the team during a critical stretch.
Lauri Markkanen led Utah with 27 points and eight free throws without a miss. Keyonte George added 19 points, but the Jazz couldn’t stop San Antonio’s second-half surge.
The Spurs tied the game early in the fourth quarter after a 34-22 third-quarter run. They continued with a 41-29 advantage in the final period, thanks to strong defense and efficient scoring from their balanced roster.
Despite the absence of Wembanyama and Vassell, the Spurs improved to 8-8, marking significant progress compared to last season when they didn’t reach eight wins until January.
Utah struggled with turnovers, committing 11 in the second half. John Collins added 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Jazz, who have now lost four straight games, dropping to 3-12 for the season.
The Spurs’ deep bench continued to shine, with Keldon Johnson, Tre Jones, and Malaki Branham combining for 26 points.
