The Cleveland Cavaliers maintained their historic start, defeating the Chicago Bulls 144-126 in an NBA Cup clash on Friday. Donovan Mitchell scored a season-high 37 points, leading Cleveland to a perfect 14-0 record.
Darius Garland added 29 points and nine assists, while Jarrett Allen contributed 24 points and 10 rebounds. Caris LeVert scored 22 off the bench, helping the Cavaliers secure their longest winning streak in franchise history.
Cleveland set the tone early, scoring a franchise-record 49 points in the first quarter. Despite a late rally by the Bulls, Mitchell’s 18 fourth-quarter points kept Chicago at bay.
The Bulls were led by Coby White, who had 29 points, and Nikola Vucevic, who scored 25. Ayo Dosunmu chipped in with 15 points.
Without Evan Mobley, sidelined due to illness, the Cavaliers relied on depth and efficient shooting. They hit 54.8% from the field and made 21 three-pointers, dominating the perimeter.
The Cavaliers’ 14-0 start places them among elite company, as only the sixth team in NBA history to achieve such a feat. It marks the best start since the Golden State Warriors’ 24-0 run in the 2015-16 season.
Chicago struggled with turnovers, committing 17, which Cleveland converted into 26 points. Despite their fast-paced offense, rushed shots hindered the Bulls’ chances of closing the gap.
