Former NBA player Kyle Singler’s recent Instagram posts have sparked concern in the basketball community, prompting support from several pros. In two videos, the former Duke star, now 36, claimed he’s being “silenced,” “mistreated,” and “abused.”
“I fear for my life every day,” Singler said in the first video, where he appeared shirtless and barefoot. He felt undervalued, saying, “I have strength and purpose that does not get treated properly.”
The video abruptly cut off, but Kevin Love, who played AAU basketball with Singler, quickly responded, urging people to show support. Other NBA players, including Isaiah Thomas and Andre Drummond, echoed Love’s encouragement.
In a follow-up video, Singler claimed attempts to start a new career have been manipulated against him, saying he feels “held hostage” in a “false narrative.” This clip also ended abruptly.
