Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has shared insights about his ongoing foot injury after a tough loss to the Detroit Pistons. Davis confirmed that he has been dealing with discomfort since the summer.

Dan Woike reported that Davis stated he landed on the spot that has been “killing” him. He clarified that it is a foot issue rather than an ankle concern, dismissing worries about a potential absence.

In the game against Detroit, Davis delivered an impressive performance, scoring 37 points. However, despite his efforts, the Lakers fell short, losing 115-103.

Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with a strong all-around performance, recording his third career triple-double. Cunningham finished the game with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Davis started strong, scoring nine points in each of the first two quarters. However, the Lakers struggled to recover from an early 33-22 deficit after the first quarter.

The Pistons maintained control throughout the game, fueled by a balanced scoring effort. Jaden Ivey contributed significantly with 26 points, while Tim Hardaway Jr. added 19.

LeBron James also made his mark, finishing with 20 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds. His contributions, however, were not enough to secure a victory for Los Angeles.

The Lakers faced challenges on the boards, recording only 37 rebounds compared to Detroit’s 55. The Pistons capitalized on this advantage, outscoring the Lakers 22-13 in second-chance points.

Austin Reaves supported the team with 17 points on 7-of-17 shooting. However, the Lakers struggled to keep pace with Detroit’s scoring.

Despite experiencing a scare with an apparent ankle injury late in the game, Davis remained on the court. He shot 13-of-23 from the field, adding nine rebounds and four assists to his tally.
