A.E.K.- Panathinaikos 64-67

The new year begun with a classic mtach-up between AEK and Panathinaikos with the visitors emerging winners after a tight game from start to finish, since AEK missed their last shot with 0.9″ left. The match was back-n-forth right from the start with Mavrokefalides who added 17, keeping AEK close with his scoring and defense. On the other side Feldein who had  bad game last time out against Fener for Euroleague, added 15 points with Calathes sharing 9 assists.

Kavala B.C.- Arkadikos 85-74

The home side wasted no time and got strong in the game dominating Arkadikos who had no defensive answers to provide until halftime (46-31). Same pace after the restart and by the passage of 30′ the game was set and done, but the visitors only managed to crop the margin in the closing period. Tyler Laser topped 3 statistic categories with 14 points, 8 boards and 5 assists for the winners.

A.E.N.Kifissias- Kolossos Rhodes 77-69

Kolossos set a wild pace at the opening quarter, got in front 21-25 but nothing could prepare them for the breakdown they had from then on, as they missed many shots, had bad offensive choices and finally lost the game to a passionate AENK side, behind Lowry’s 17 points.

Trikala B.C.- Lavrio G.S. 81-77

Despite the importance of the game regarding the relegation battle, both sides got in full throttle but Trikala set the pace 27-22. After this impressive start they set a lower tone to the match, but after halftime they had a very strong 3 quarter to put them in front, managing to keep Lavrio behind for the last 10′ .MVP was Robinson with 18 but the top scorer was Bolds for Lavrio with 24p.

Aris- A.G.O.Rethimno 72-60

Aris used his strong defense, did well on offense and met no significant difficulties against AGOR. The visitors did well until halftime, but after that, the “Emperor” had a 23-13 run and the Cretans did not try to get the win in the end as they were tired. Zaras scored 25 points while Haggins achieved a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.

Olympiacos- Apollon Patras 83-62

After their big win against Barcelona for the Euroleague, Olympiacos started the new year with an easy Sunday match-up against Apollon. The visitors were very decent and did not try to mess the game, played open basketball but they could not threaten the “Reds”. Odom made his debut and added 9 points, while MVP was Milutinov with 12 points.

Koroivos Amaliadas- P.A.O.K. 65-75

PAOK had troubles shaking off Koroivos’ pressure up until the last quarter when the home team was out of gas and could not convert on offense. Tepic had 17 points and 7 rebounds to boost “Dikefalos” to the win to start 2016 in good shape.
