On a recent episode of FanDuel TV’s Run It Back, co-host Lou Williams shared a humorous exchange with Memphis Grizzlies forward GG Jackson, who addressed the three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year as “sir.”
Jackson’s respectful greeting sparked an immediate reaction from Williams, who replied, “I respect the respect, but can you not call us ‘sir’?” Michelle Beadle, also on the panel, playfully chimed in, telling Williams, “You’re old, accept it, Lou,” adding a comical touch to the moment.
Jackson, a sophomore in the NBA currently sidelined with a foot injury, took the lighthearted ribbing in stride. Later in the conversation, he referred to Williams as “Mr. Lou.”
Williams, a 17-year NBA veteran, laughed off the formality, as the conversation soon shifted to Jackson’s thoughts on the league’s emerging talent. Jackson mentioned Chris Paul’s influence on Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, highlighting Paul’s veteran presence as key to Wembanyama’s development in his sophomore season.
Jackson, who averaged 14.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists during his rookie season, has yet to make his season debut due to his current injury.
