Comedian JP Sears recently released a satirical video that targeted a mock political group he dubbed “White Dudes for Kamala,” supporters of Democratic vice president Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. presidential race. In his comedic sketch, Sears introduced unconventional “gift ideas” tailored to members of this fictional group, including items related to basketball.
Sears opened the video with a humorous setup, explaining that the “White Dudes for Kamala” group consists of supporters difficult to buy gifts for, noting the unique preferences of the demographic he was addressing. “What do you get the White Dudes for Kamala in your life?” Sears quipped, adding that this particular group is challenging to understand for anyone familiar with men in general.
“They’ve notoriously been hard to buy gifts for because if you understand men, that means you don’t understand white dudes for Kamala. But stay tuned because I’m going to solve that problem for you. So whether it’s for their birthday or they’re grieving that Kamala lost the election or they’re celebrating that Kamala stole the election, let me share with you the top 10 gift ideas that white dudes for Kamala in your life are guaranteed to love,” he said.
One of Sears’ top suggestions for this anbase was Mark Cuban’s “autobiography.” Sears described Cuban as the “appointed leader of White Dudes for Kamala,” suggesting that his fictional book, titled “How to Win Friends and Become a Lesbian,” would be a source of inspiration for Harris supporters.
In addition to the fictional autobiography, Sears recommended gifting WNBA tickets. “For all of the time nobody has cared about the WNBA, including women,” Sears said, in his sketch, joking that now a new group of individuals feels compelled to support the league regardless of its popularity.
“But now there’s a new breed of NPCs that are intimidated into supporting women no matter how meritless their accomplishments are. And they’ll feel right at home being at a game in an arena filled with 16 people because it’ll remind them of a Kamala rally,” he added.
