JJ Redick on Lakers: “The group is in a good spot”

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick expressed optimism about his team’s progress as they prepare for their second preseason game against the Phoenix Suns. Despite a 107-124 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the preseason opener, Redick believes the Lakers are on the right track.

“The group is in a good spot,” Redick said when asked about the team’s development. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the process rather than the results. “We talked about being a process team and just focusing on the daily work. We’ve done that. We did that again today,” he added.

The Lakers were without their key players, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, in the game against Minnesota. Both stars are expected to make their preseason debuts in the upcoming matchup against Phoenix.

Redick’s approach to the preseason has been centered around building chemistry and implementing the system he envisions for the team. With the focus on daily improvement, Redick is not concerned with the early losses, knowing the team will look different once their full roster is available.
