The New Orleans Pelicans have officially exercised their third-year team option on guard Jordan Hawkins, per NBA insider Michael Scotto. This move ensures Hawkins will remain with the team through the 2025-26 season, earning $4.74 million.

Hawkins was selected with the fourteenth overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. He played a key role for New Orleans during his rookie season.

In his first year, Hawkins averaged 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1 assist per game. He played 17.3 minutes per game, making an impact off the bench with his scoring ability.

Exercising the team option allows the Pelicans to keep Hawkins on the roster while continuing to develop him. The franchise sees him as a long-term piece in their young core.

Hawkins’ rookie season provided glimpses of his ability to contribute to a playoff-contending team. While his role may expand in the coming years, the Pelicans are excited about his potential.
