The Orlando Magic have signed Mac McClung, Ethan Thompson, and Javonte Smart to Exhibit 10 contracts.
This move comes after the team waived Myron Gardner and Tre Scott from their Exhibit 10 deals.
Jason Beede reported that Gardner and Scott are eligible for bonuses if they join the Osceola Magic and remain there for 60 days.
McClung, who went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, has had an eventful journey in professional basketball.
He initially joined the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2021 NBA Summer League and signed with them shortly after. However, McClung was waived by the Lakers before the start of the regular season.
Following his release, he played for the South Bay Lakers in the G League, where he quickly made an impact. His performance earned him the 2021–22 G League Rookie of the Year award.
Later, McClung signed a two-way contract with the Lakers. He gained national attention by winning the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in February 2023.
Last season, he averaged 25.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists in 35.4 minutes per game for the Osceola Magic.
Thompson also went undrafted in 2021, beginning his professional career with the Chicago Bulls during the Summer League.
After brief stints with the Bulls and the Windy City Bulls, he played for the Mexico City Capitanes in the G League.
Last season, Thompson averaged 22.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 37.2 minutes per game for the Capitanes.
On March 2, 2024, he was selected first overall in the BSN draft by the Osos de Manatí in Puerto Rico.
Smart is another player looking to establish himself in the NBA. After going undrafted in 2021, Smart joined the Miami Heat for the Summer League.
He later signed a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks but was waived shortly after.
Smart had a notable season with the Delaware Blue Coats, averaging 18.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in six games.
He spent time playing for the Serbian club Crvena zvezda, averaging 7.2 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 17.5 minutes per game in the EuroLeague
