Nikola Vucevic has addressed ongoing trade rumors surrounding his future with the Chicago Bulls.
In a recent interview, Vucevic acknowledged that trade speculation is part of the business, especially when a team’s performance is under scrutiny.
“I mean, honestly, I’m used to it at this point,” Vucevic said, reflecting on his experience with trade talks, via Marc Stein’s Substack.
He noted that such speculation has been a recurring theme since joining the Bulls, particularly during the past season.
Vucevic explained that trade rumors often arise when a team is struggling and not meeting its goals.
“If things were going well and we’re winning and everything was great, that wouldn’t be the case,” he added.
Despite the speculation, Vucevic maintains a pragmatic approach, recognizing that he has limited control over these discussions. “It’s just part of it,” the Montenegrin center said.
He mentioned that if a trade were to happen, it would be up to the team to decide.
“I know it’s a pretty basic answer, but you don’t have much control over it, so you kind of just wait and see,” he noted.
Vucevic, who is currently in the second year of a three-year, $60 million contract, averaged 18 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists last season.
