The iconic “The Chosen One” jersey worn by LeBron James in high school is set to be auctioned with an estimated value of $1-2 million, as reported by Rustin Dodd of The Athletic.

This historic piece of memorabilia, worn by James during his junior season at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, will be featured in a Julien’s Auctions event in Hong Kong next month.

The jersey gained fame after being showcased on the cover of Sports Illustrated on February 18, 2002, when James was dubbed “The Chosen One.”

Michael LeBrecht, the Sports Illustrated photographer who captured the iconic image, recounted that the photoshoot took place early in the morning, just before James’ practice.

The jersey, which was also worn by James in a game that same night, has since become a symbol of his early rise to basketball stardom.

LeBron’s emergence as a high school prodigy from Akron, Ohio, was solidified by this photoshoot, which catapulted him into national prominence.

The upcoming auction marks a rare opportunity for collectors to acquire a piece of sports history associated with one of the NBA’s greatest players.

With an estimated auction price between $1-2 million, this jersey could set a new record for a game-worn high school jersey.
