Tyler Herro believes the Miami Heat remain serious contenders despite a quiet offseason.

In an exclusive interview with Mat Issa of Forbes, Herro expressed confidence in the team’s championship prospects. “I don’t see why not. We have everything we need,” Herro stated.

Herro underscored that the Heat’s improvements are internal rather than through major external moves. “I’m really excited for this season,” he said.

The guard highlighted key elements of the team’s strength. “We have young guys that we hope will continue to get better,” he added.

He pointed to the growth of players like himself and Bam Adebayo, who are evolving into veteran leaders. “Bam Adebayo and I are young guys who are starting to become full-fledged veterans,” Herro noted.

The return of Terry Rozier, now healthy, adds to the team’s optimism. “Terry Rozier is healthy now and ready to compete,” Herro mentioned.

Herro also emphasized Jimmy Butler’s motivation for the new season. “Jimmy Butler, who is extra motivated after not being able to play in the playoffs last season,” he said.

The Heat had a challenging 2023–24 season, finishing eighth in the Eastern Conference. They entered the playoffs via the play-in tournament but were eliminated in the first round by the Boston Celtics.

Miami’s offseason saw several roster changes. The additions include Keshad Johnson, Zyon Pullin, Dru Smith, Alec Burks, and Isaiah Stevens.

Departures included Caleb Martin, Delon Wright, and Orlando Robinson.
