The Utah Jazz have signed Oscar Tshiebwe to a two-way contract, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto.
Tshiebwe, a Congolese center, was undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft after playing college basketball at West Virginia and Kentucky.
Following the draft, he joined the Indiana Pacers for the 2023 NBA Summer League.
On July 3, 2023, Tshiebwe signed a two-way contract with the Pacers, splitting his time between the NBA team and their G League affiliate, the Indiana Mad Ants.
On February 18, 2024, he was selected for the NBA G League Next Up Game, where his team emerged as champions.
During the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend, Tshiebwe participated in the Rising Stars Challenge, where his team lost in the finals to MVP Bennedict Mathurin.
On April 2, 2024, Tshiebwe was awarded the NBA G League Rookie of the Year Award for his performance throughout the season.
He led the G League in rebounding with a record-setting average of 16.2 rebounds per game and recorded 27 double-doubles during the season.
Tshiebwe also set new records for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, including the most rebounds collected in a season and the most rebounds in a single game with 28.
In the 2023-24 season, he averaged 3.3 points and 2 rebounds in 8 NBA games and 16.2 points with 16.1 rebounds in 23 G League games.
