The Los Angeles Lakers have hired Ty Abbott as Lead Player Development Coach.
Abbott joins the Lakers after his tenure with the Chicago Bulls, where he was part of the coaching staff.
This move is part of the Lakers’ new coaching structure under head coach JJ Redick.
The team has previously announced several other coaching additions.
Nate McMillan, Scott Brooks, Bob Beyer, Greg St. Jean, Lindsey Harding, and Beau Levesque have been named assistant coaches.
Michael Wexler will take on the role of head video coordinator.
Abbott’s hiring is expected to enhance the Lakers’ player development efforts for the upcoming season.
