Details of LeBron James’ new contract with the Los Angeles Lakers have been revealed.
James signed a two-year, $104 million maximum deal to return to the Lakers after declining his player option for the 2024-25 season.
NBA insider Shams Charania tweeted the specifics of the contract, noting that the total is $101.355 million, slightly below the $104 million max.
This adjustment places the Lakers below the second salary cap apron, providing some financial flexibility.
The contract includes a player option and a no-trade clause, ensuring James’ control over his future with the team.
Additionally, the deal features a 15 percent trade kicker, enhancing James’ earnings if traded.
This past season, the 39-year-old superstar averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in 35.3 minutes per game.
