As expected, the Dallas Mavericks have traded Tim Hardaway Jr. after his tenure of five and a half years with the team. His next career move will be with the Detroit Pistons.
NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that Dallas traded Hardaway and three second-round picks to Detroit for Quentin Grimes.
The picks include a 2025 second-rounder via Toronto and two second-rounders in 2028.
Hardaway, 32, averaged 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 26.8 minutes per game this past season.
He joined the Mavericks in January 2019 as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade with the New York Knicks.
During his time with Dallas, Hardaway became known for his three-point shooting and perimeter scoring.
Meanwhile Grimes, who joined the Pistons via a trade from the New York Knicks last season, averaged 5.3 points, 2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 19.2 minutes over six games for Detroit.
