Insider: No progress in Tyronn Lue extension talks with Clippers

Despite the Los Angeles Clippers’ desire to extend Tyronn Lue’s contract, talks regarding his extension have stalled, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Following the Clippers’ early exit from the playoffs, discussions about Lue’s future with the team have yet to yield any concrete progress. Lue has expressed his desire to continue leading the team.

However, with the offseason underway, there has been no significant movement in negotiations between Lue and the Clippers’ front office.

“[The Clippers] want to extend him, but to my knowledge right now, there hasn’t been any progress in those conversations,” Charania said on Up & Adams.

Under Lue’s guidance, the Clippers have emerged as formidable contenders in the Western Conference.

Lue, who is reportedly LeBron James’ preferred head coach, was among candidates for the vacant Lakers head coach position.
