Following the Pacers’ Game 1 loss to the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, Tyrese Haliburton came to the defense of head coach Rick Carlisle, who took the blame for the loss.
Despite the critical decision-making moment late in regulation, Haliburton shouldered much of the responsibility for the loss, expressing his willingness to improve.
“That’s not on him… I’ll take that more than he should. I’ll be better,” Haliburton said.
Haliburton’s impressive performance, contributing 25 points and 10 assists, showcased his leadership on the court.
While the Pacers fell short in Game 1, Haliburton’s accountability reflects the team’s determination to overcome challenges and bounce back in the series.
