Brad Stevens, President of Basketball Operations for the Boston Celtics, has been honored as the 2023-24 NBA Basketball Executive of the Year.
Marking his first win of the prestigious award, Stevens’ recognition comes after his exceptional contributions to the Celtics’ success throughout the season.
Under Stevens’ leadership, the Celtics soared to an NBA-best record of 64-18 during the 2023-24 regular season, showcasing his adeptness in team management and roster construction.
Stevens’ strategic player acquisitions proved instrumental in Boston’s stellar performance, with notable additions including guard Jrue Holiday and forward-center Kristaps Porzingis, both integral members of the Celtics’ starting lineup.
The NBA Basketball Executive of the Year Award is determined by a voting panel comprising esteemed basketball executives from across the league, recognizing the outstanding achievements of front office personnel.
Stevens’ remarkable accomplishment in securing the award was reflected in the voting results, where he garnered a total of 101 points, including a noteworthy 16 first-place votes, underscoring his widespread acknowledgment within the basketball community.
Following Stevens’ impressive showing, Sam Presti of the Oklahoma City Thunder secured the second position with 47 points, while Tim Connelly of the Minnesota Timberwolves claimed the third spot with 29 points.
Other notable contenders for the award included Leon Rose of the New York Knicks, who amassed 27 points, and Nico Harrison of the Dallas Mavericks, accruing 11 points in the voting process.
