Former NBA star Shawn Marion has labeled the combination of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving as “deadly,” emphasizing its importance for postseason success.

Marion expressed his admiration for the Mavericks’ duo, highlighting their ability to close out games, a trait crucial for playoff contention.

“You got two of the best closers on one team. That’s deadly…That’s very special. A lot of teams don’t have that. That’s what you’re going to need in the postseason…That’s a dynamic duo,” Marion said, per Mike Curtis.

With Doncic averaging 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists, and Irving contributing 25.6 points, 5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game, the Mavericks boast a formidable offensive tandem.

Currently occupying the fifth spot in the Western Conference standings, the Mavericks are poised for a playoff clash against the fourth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers.
