The Charlotte Hornets are in the process of interviewing Jay Larranaga, a seasoned NBA assistant coach, for their head coaching vacancy. The current head coach, Steve Clifford, will transition into a front-office role following the conclusion of the season.

Larranaga currently serves as an assistant coach on Ty Lue’s staff with the LA Clippers, where he has been for the past three years. Before his tenure with the Clippers, Larranaga spent nine seasons as an assistant coach with the Boston Celtics. He initially joined the Celtics under Doc Rivers’ coaching staff and continued in his role when Brad Stevens took over as the head coach.
