Philadelphia 76ers’ center Joel Embiid, the reigning NBA MVP, finds solace in not being part of the MVP conversation this season.

Embiid’s exclusion from the race stems from a left meniscus injury that sidelined him for over two months, rendering him ineligible under the new requirement of playing at least 65 regular-season games.

Despite leading the NBA in scoring and being a frontrunner for the MVP before his injury, Embiid seems unfazed by his exclusion.

In a light-hearted remark, he expressed, “I’m happy I’m not in the [MVP] conversation; that conversation has been toxic for a long time.”

Embiid’s stats this season are still noteworthy, with averages of 34.8 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. Despite his stellar performance, the new eligibility rule for MVP candidacy has removed him from contention.
