The Minnesota Timberwolves (53-23) delivered a dominant performance as they routed the short-handed Toronto Raptors (23-53) 133-85 on Wednesday night, seizing a tie for first place in the Western Conference.

This massive 48-point victory marked the largest margin of victory for the Timberwolves this season.

Anthony Edwards led the charge for Minnesota with 28 points, while Naz Reid contributed 23 points to the commanding win. Rudy Gobert anchored the defense with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Luka Garza added 16 points off the bench.

The Timberwolves’ victory propelled them into a tie with the Denver Nuggets for the top spot in the Western Conference, setting the stage for an intense battle for playoff positioning in the final stretch of the season.

Meanwhile, the Raptors struggled to keep pace with the Timberwolves, plagued by injuries and a depleted roster. Despite the efforts of Immanuel Quickley, Gradey Dick, and Javon Freeman-Liberty, who each scored 16 points, Toronto couldn’t overcome Minnesota’s attack.

Without key players like Gary Trent Jr., Bruce Brown, and RJ Barrett, Toronto struggled to find offensive rhythm.
