Dusty May is poised to depart Florida Atlantic University to assume the role of head coach at the University of Michigan. The agreement is anticipated to be finalized over the weekend.

May has served as the head coach at Florida Atlantic for six seasons, during which he has amassed a record of 126-69, with six consecutive winning seasons.

In 2023, May guided the Owls to the Final Four with a notable record of 35-4. However, this season, Florida Atlantic achieved a record of 25-9 but was eliminated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Michigan decided to part ways with Juwan Howard after his five-year tenure. Despite NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021 and 2022, Howard’s last season saw the Wolverines finish with an 18-16 record. This season, Michigan struggled further, finishing with an 8-24 record.
