The Denver Nuggets have chosen to skip the customary White House visit after winning the NBA Championship, which has drawn criticism from Charles Barkley, who recently threatened violence against Democratic party opponents.

Initially rescheduled due to a conflict, the team has canceled the visit to focus on their push for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. This decision prompted Barkley to express his displeasure on the Thursday edition of Inside the NBA.

“Are they flying Southwest or something?” he said. “Come on, man. I actually have a problem with this whole thing that’s happened in sports the last few years, not just now.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to go to the White House. It shouldn’t matter who’s in the White House. It’s an honor and a privilege to go to the White House. You should always go. But these guys act like they’re flying Southwest.”
