In response to NBA legend Charles Barkley’s controversial remarks, Congressman Wesley Hunt delivered a powerful message condemning threats towards black supporters of President Donald Trump.

Congressman Hunt, a black combat veteran himself, took to social media to address Barkley’s statement, emphasizing the importance of context and individual freedom of thought.

“Charles Barkley fell into the media’s trap by taking a 2 hour speech from President Trump out of context. One thing I can guarantee is when you see Wesley Hunt sporting “The Mugshot” Sir Charles won’t be punching this Combat Vet in the face,” Hunt tweeted.

Hunt also added a clip from The Benny Show hosted by Benny Johnson in which he dispelled false narrative about Trump’s quote that got Barkley angry.

“For the record, when things like get taken out of context and they play clips like that, that’s how nefarious and how deceitful our media is. It’s pretty sad,” Hunt said in the video. “So what you don’t know is sitting over President Trump’s left shoulder during that moment was me. I was sitting right behind him during a two-hour speech that was given in front of over 300 black conservatives.

“And if you put that in the context of when he said that, it was absolutely hilarious. No one would have walked out. And by the way, it was a two-hour speech about policy, about how the Biden administration has destroyed the black community, about how he wants to restore the prominence of the black community and get back to a successful place for all Americans.”

Barkley’s comments, made during a CNN appearance, sparked widespread debate. The NBA legend’s statement, suggesting physical confrontation against Trump supporters, has drawn sharp criticism from various quarters, including political figures like Congressman Hunt.
