Golden State Warriors’ forward Andrew Wiggins has been granted leave from the team due to personal reasons, according to recent reports.

NBA insider Shams Charania shed light on the situation, providing insight into Wiggins’ absence.

Charania disclosed on FanDuelTV’s Run It Back that Wiggins is currently addressing a significant family matter, and the Warriors are respecting his need for space and time during this period.

“I’m told Andrew Wiggins is dealing and tending to a serious family matter right now, and the Warriors are giving him his space, they’re giving him his time,” Charania said.

This isn’t the first time Wiggins has taken time away from the court for personal reasons. Last season, he faced a similar situation, which was attributed to concerns about his father’s health.

Throughout the current NBA season, Wiggins has seen a dip in his statistical performance, registering career-low averages of 12.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in 27.2 minutes of play.
