Sports pundit Stephen A. Smith has issued a stark warning regarding Doc Rivers’ tenure as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, suggesting that failure could spell the end of Rivers’ coaching career in the NBA.

Rivers’ appointment as head coach came amidst surprising circumstances, following the dismissal of Adrian Griffin, who guided the Bucks to the second-best record in the NBA before his departure.

However, since Rivers assumed the coaching reins, the Bucks have struggled, posting a 1-4 record that has raised concerns about the team’s performance under his leadership.

Expressing his concerns on The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith emphasized the high stakes for Rivers, asserting that if the veteran coach fails to turn the Bucks’ fortunes around, it could mark the end of his illustrious coaching career.

“Doc Rivers better get it together… If he doesn’t, this will be the last head coaching job he gets in his NBA career,” Smith remarked passionately, highlighting the significance of the current situation for Rivers.

Smith’s sentiments underscore the mounting pressure on Rivers to deliver results for the Bucks, especially given the team’s lofty aspirations and championship ambitions.

Despite currently occupying the third spot in the Eastern Conference with a commendable 33-18 record, the Bucks are expected to contend for the NBA title, particularly following the acquisition of superstar Damian Lillard in the offseason.

As the Bucks strive to navigate the challenges of the season and realize their championship aspirations, Rivers faces a pivotal juncture in his coaching career, with his future contingent on the team’s performance under his guidance.
