After a stint with the Boston Celtics, Malcolm Brogdon finds himself with the Portland Trail Blazers, expressing profound gratitude for the team’s acknowledgment of his leadership input.

In a recent interview with Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Brogdon shared his perspective on the challenges faced by mentally tough players, highlighting the need to adapt to different teams and roles while maintaining perseverance.

“My goal is to persevere no matter what role I’m put in,” Brogdon explained, underlining his determination to thrive under various circumstances.

Brogdon expressed his gratitude for joining a team where his voice and leadership are genuinely valued, allowing him to play a different role.

“There’s something very gratifying about coming to a team where your voice and leadership are really valued, and you play a different role,” Brogdon said.

He further conveyed his enthusiasm for playing with the young and ambitious Trail Blazers squad, describing them as hungry for success and remarkably coachable.

More than anything, Brogdon emphasized his respect for Chauncey Billups, the head coach of the Trail Blazers. “I enjoy being under Chauncey’s wing and being coached by him. I have the most respect for him. He’s a guy I’d run through a wall for,” Brogdon said, highlighting the strong bond and mutual respect between him and Billups.

In the ongoing season, Brogdon’s impact goes beyond statistics, averaging 14.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in just under 27 minutes per game.
