As the NBA trade deadline approaches, the Golden State Warriors are reportedly leaning towards parting ways with Andrew Wiggins, marking the end of an era that saw him contribute to the team’s championship run in 2022.

Tim Kawakami of The Athletic suggests that Wiggins, who has been with the Warriors for five seasons, is likely to be traded before the February 8 deadline.

Kawakami shared his insights on the Willard and Dibs podcast, stating, “I think [the Warriors] are going to trade Wiggins.”

Wiggins, a key player during the Warriors’ recent championship success, is currently in the first year of a four-year, $109 million contract with Golden State.

Despite his significant contributions in the past, Wiggins has experienced a dip in performance this season, with career-low averages of 11.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 25.9 minutes per game.

As trade rumors swirl, the Warriors, known for their calculated moves, appear to be considering changes to optimize their lineup for future challenges.
