LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne hired Gianmarco Pozzecco in October to replace head coach TJ Parker. However, Pozzecco was recently dismissed after a short stint.
ASVEL won all three of their EuroLeague victories under his leadership. Pierric Poupet, one of Pozzecco’s assistants, will now take over as head coach for the remainder of the season.
The team also announced other coaching changes. Despite moving to the new LDLC Arena, they faced difficulties filling the stands and relocated two EuroLeague games to the old Astroballe venue.
With 3 wins and 16 losses, ASVEL is currently in 17th place in the EuroLeague standings, sharing it with ALBA Berlin.
