Eight-time NBA All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year, Dwight Howard, is set to join the Filipino team Super Group for the 2024 Dubai International Basketball Championship, as reported by Shams Charania of Stadium.
The tournament, held annually in winter, is scheduled for January 19-28 this year. Howard will have the chance to showcase his skills in several games and then reenter the free-agent market as he continues his pursuit of an NBA comeback.
At 38 years old, Howard’s last NBA appearance was in the 2021/22 season, where he played for the Lakers, averaging 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game across 60 appearances (27 starts). He spent the following season outside the league, playing for the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan.
