Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups talked about rookie Scoot Henderson’s elite defensive potential after this past weekend’s 126-106 road loss vs. the Golden State Warriors.

Reporter: “Scoot had 3 steals tonight. Obviously took turns guarding some pretty dynamic guards. What do you think his potential is on the defensive end?”

Billups: “When he learns how aggressive he could be at different points of the game… he’s an aggressive defender, he’s a tenacious defender… he’s going to be an elite defender in this league. But that takes a while because, one, he’s playing against most of these players for the first time in his life. It takes a while to kind of understand what these players… what this guy wants to do, what this guy wants to do. It’s even harder now because we switch so much, so you can’t just key in on Steph [Curry] & Klay [Thompson], or it’s the four-man, everybody. So his potential is very, very high on the defensive end.”
