In a fierce early-season clash between Eastern Conference powerhouses, the Boston Celtics (12-3) edged past the Milwaukee Bucks (10-5) with a final score of 119-116 on Wednesday night.

Jayson Tatum, overcoming illness, delivered a stellar performance with 23 points and 11 rebounds, leading the Celtics to victory in this closely contested matchup.

Jaylen Brown contributed significantly to Boston’s success, recording 26 points and eight assists, while Kristaps Porzingis added 21 points and Derrick White chipped in with 13.

Despite the Bucks making a late charge in the final two minutes, narrowing the gap to 114-111, Tatum’s clutch free throws in the closing seconds secured the win for the Celtics.

Brook Lopez led the Bucks with 28 points, while Damian Lillard contributed 27 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

However, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored at least 40 points in his last two games, was limited to 21 points in this matchup.

The intensity of the game was evident early on, with Jrue Holiday, acquired by the Celtics from the Trail Blazers, defensively challenging Lillard on Milwaukee’s first possession.
