Giannis Antetokounmpo showcased a historic shooting performance, scoring 42 points on an astonishing 87% shooting, leading the Milwaukee Bucks (10-4) to a convincing 142-129 victory over the struggling Washington Wizards (2-11) on Monday night.

Antetokounmpo’s remarkable field goal percentage was a rare feat not seen in over 40 years, reminiscent of Mike Woodson’s 91.7% shooting in 1983.

Despite the Wizards’ determined effort, marked by a commendable 55% shooting from the field, they couldn’t contain the Bucks’ star player.

Washington briefly led in the fourth quarter, but Antetokounmpo’s scoring spree initiated a decisive 15-3 run for Milwaukee, securing their fifth consecutive win.

Jordan Poole led the Wizards with an impressive 30-point performance, while Kyle Kuzma contributed 22 points and 13 assists.

Washington displayed solid ball control, turning the ball over only four times, denying the Bucks any points from turnovers.

For the Bucks, Damian Lillard added 22 points, and Khris Middleton’s 18 points propelled him into fourth place on Milwaukee’s all-time scoring list, trailing only Antetokounmpo, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Glenn Robinson.
