Kendrick Nunn, the former Lakers guard, recently signed with EuroLeague’s Panathinaikos, recently indicated his dissatisfaction with the Purple and Gold through his social media activity.

Nunn, who liked a tweet highlighting the disparities in playing time between him and current Lakers player Gabe Vincent, subtly expressed his frustration over what he perceives as an uneven opportunity distribution.

The tweet that captured Nunn’s attention read, “I love how Gabe Vincent continually gets 30 minutes of opportunities for the Lakers despite not doing a thing, and Nunn didn’t get a single 30-minute game in his entire Laker career.”

Nunn encountered challenges during his tenure with the Lakers, including a significant setback in his first season due to a knee injury, which resulted in his absence for the entire 2021-22 season.

Despite his return from injury, Nunn found himself struggling to secure considerable playing time in the Lakers’ rotation, averaging 6.7 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 13.5 minutes per game.

In January 2023, the Lakers traded Nunn to the Washington Wizards, where he experienced only a marginal increase in playing time, with an average of 7.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 14.1 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, Gabe Vincent, a recent addition to the Lakers’ roster, has received notable playing time, surpassing the 30-minute mark in two of the four games played this season, with an average of 6 points, 1 rebound, and 3 assists in 28.3 minutes per game.

Nunn’s subtle yet telling social media activity underscores the challenges and complexities players face in their pursuit of fair playing time and opportunities in the NBA.
