Ratko VardaZalgiris finished the search of the backup center for Loren Woods by signing 29-year-old Serbian Ratko Varda. Official club's website announced that the player signed 2-year contract with Lithuanian champions. Varda comes from Spanish ACB league where he represented Menorca last season being loaned out from Real Madrid.

It will be already the 10th club for Ratko Varda as he previously played for Partizan, Olimpija, Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, Apollon, Besiktas, Kyiv, Real Madrid and Menorca.

Varda's career in Real Madrid was slowed down by an injury which knocked him out of the game for half of the year.

2.16m tall center is quite good from the 3-poitn line. He made 38% of his shots from beyond the arc last season. Varda has even more impressive free-throw stats with 82%.
