In a thrilling rematch of the 2023 playoffs, the Golden State Warriors edged out the Sacramento Kings with a last-second shot by Klay Thompson, securing a 102-101 victory.

Klay Thompson’s clutch 17-footer in the dying moments proved to be the game-winner as the Warriors managed to withstand a late surge by the Kings.

Sacramento briefly took the lead when Domantas Sabonis hit a jumper with just 16 seconds left on the clock, following Stephen Curry’s layup in a frenetic final minute.

Curry’s timely basket came after a 24-second violation by the Kings, providing the Warriors with another opportunity.

De’Aaron Fox, the Kings’ leading scorer, was absent due to a sprained right ankle, a significant setback for Sacramento.

While Curry’s performance against the Kings wasn’t as dominant as his previous outings, where he scored 41 and 50 points in the recent playoff series, the Warriors managed to secure their seventh consecutive home victory over the Kings, a team coached by former assistant Mike Brown.

Dario Saric played a pivotal role on both ends for the Warriors, contributing 15 points and six rebounds.

Sabonis delivered an impressive performance with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists for the Kings.
