The NBA preseason is more like a warm-up for seasoned players rather than a serious competition.

Veterans like LeBron James, in his 21st preseason, see it as a chance to fine-tune their skills before the regular season begins.

Given LeBron’s impressive performance in the previous season at the age of 38, where he averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists, he can afford to take it easy.

However, a former Lakers star, Michael Cooper, expressed concern about LeBron’s recent preseason game.

Despite scoring 12 points in the first half against the Golden State Warriors, LeBron changed into casual clothes and watched the rest of the game from the bench.

While it’s common for stars to take it easy during the preseason, what raised eyebrows was LeBron returning with a meal in hand.

According to Cooper, this didn’t reflect well on James.

“I didn’t like that. Again, he’s LeBron James, but still, you’ve got to have respect for the game, man,” Cooper said on his ‘Showtime with Coop’ podcast.

“He’s over there – I don’t mind the guy eating, but go eat in the locker room, and then when you come out, you come out and be part of the team, not just sit on the end of the bench eating.”
