Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox says that being in shape and bringing physicality are a major focus for the group this season.

(via Sacramento Kings):

Reporter: “The importance of having an extra layer of physicality to open this season, what do you think is the key to get to that kind of identity?”

Fox: “I mean just mentality. Being able to be in shape to do it for a full game. I think to begin the game in Toronto, we did really good, we were really physical at the beginning of the game; and then it kinda started going away as it went on. But we have to try to find that and try to do that for as much as possible. Don’t worry about the officiating, they’ll adjust to a team being physical.”

Reporter: “When you look at the big picture, what difference do you think that can play when you’re looking at the ultimate end goal?”

Fox: “Once you get to the playoffs, it was a totally different game. So if you can be physical before even getting to the playoffs; then you don’t have to change anything once you get to the playoffs and you know that you’re able to do that on both ends of the court. You have to be in a different type of shape to be able to do that. So not having to change anything that you’re doing going from regular season to the playoffs is a big thing.”
