The Miami Heat are making a forward-looking move by exercising their third-year option on Nikola Jovic, ensuring his presence with the team for the 2024-25 season.

This decision guarantees the remainder of his rookie-scale contract, as reported by Ira Widerman on X.

Jovic, a 20-year-old Serbian forward selected as the No. 27 pick in the 2022 draft, is currently on a four-year contract worth $11.5 million with the Heat.

During his rookie campaign, Jovic made appearances in 15 regular-season games for Miami, averging 5.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game.

Jovic also represented Serbia at the FIBA World Cup this offseason, contributing to the national team’s silver medal achievement.
