Team USA’s assistant coach, Tyronn Lue, has shed light on how the players reacted to their recent loss to Lithuania (110-104) in the FIBA World Cup’s second round.

Speaking on the #thisleague UNCUT podcast hosted by Chris Haynes and Marc Stein, Lue emphasized that the defeat did not shake the team’s confidence.

“I don’t think they were shaken. They were more pissed off about the way we played, how we didn’t establish a defensive presence to start the game. And you should be pissed off. They’re not shaken at all. Their confidence is not shaken,” Lue explained.

Despite the setback, Team USA remains determined and focused as they prepare to face Italy in the FIBA World Cup quarter-finals today.

The Americans, considered tournament favorites, are eager to secure gold after their disappointing 7th-place finish in the 2019 edition.
