Former Dallas Mavericks point guard Rajon Rondo says that he enjoyed playing for head coach Rick Carlisle despite their fallout.

“People might say, ‘Oh, you and Rick [Carlisle].’ Me and Rick fell out; but Rick was a hell of an ATO. His ATO’s were unmatched. And I loved the way he would do nontraditional things. He might put me on a guy that’s six-foot-eight, and he was kinda the first coach to do those things. Or he would throw a 2-3 zone in early, and then he would switch it up and go man. So his things weren’t really traditional in how he coached and approached the game. It was a little bit different; which I liked.”
