Nikola Jovic went unconscious offensively to propel Serbia’s 115-83 domination against South Sudan to ace their Group B competition of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup within Manila’s Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
The 20-year-old led his Serbian team to domination with a flawless 25-point output, draining all of his nine shot attempts and five trifectas. Team captain Bogdan Bogdanovic went off with his 23 markers.
The European heavyweights locked South Sudan from the jump, building by as much as 32 markers to etch a perfect 3-0 record heading to the second round of the World Cup.
They also went sizzling collectively by shooting 62 percent from the field (42/68) and 53.10 percent from threes.
Dut Jok Kacuol stood at the front for South Sudan with 21 points.
The tournament debutants can only pray for China to wreck Puerto Rico by 35 points or more to reach the second round.
